Berlin

We have really enjoyed the last 3 days in Berlin. We arrived the day before our show and were able to stay with the lovely Peter and Adele for our first night. We played the next night at Schokoladen which is a really cool venue, and the best part was we got to play with Guy Blackman and Geoff from Sly Hats who are both from Melbourne. The girl who booked our show, Melissa, treated us so well and was a lovely lady. She cooked us a wonderful dinner the night of the show and we had breakfast arranged for us the next morning.

We had all of yesterday off so Floss, Ian, Bartek and I headed to the Flea Market in Maeur Park. Had I have lived in Berlin I would have taken half of it home with me. We met up with some more friends there and enjoyed basking in the sunshine in the park. It was really nice to have a simple day off to relax and enjoy the city.

Tomorrow we have to drive all the way to Poland to get our replacement van so I won't be updating for a few days.

Poland to Prague

Today we are in Berlin. During the last two week we have played shows all over Poland and Prague. After getting our broken down van back to Poland we had to drive to a small town on a lake near Bydgoszcz to get a new one. We stayed the night and then headed to Gdansk for our first show, and then Warsaw, Poznan and Krakow (see pics below). Bartek, our polish booker and general hero came with us for the Poland leg of the tour and has joined us again here in Berlin. So far we have played to great crowds and played really well (although the sound sucked in Krakow) and met some wonderful people. It was nice to meet people who were fans of function and one nice group of people in Krakow even bought cookies to the show for us.

We left Krakow and drove to Katowice where we stayed the night before heading to Prague. We immediately fell in love with the city when we arrived. We only had one full day unfortunately. We did a radio interview and then headed to the venue called Club 007 which was a really cool basement kind of venue and apparently quiet legendary. People seemed to really love it as we sold loads of CD’s and T-shirts. We were able to enjoy some more of the city the following morning and then made the 6 hour drive to Berlin where we were greeted by our earth mama Pete Nicholson who has feed and held us. We play tonight and then are able to enjoy this city for a couple of days.
